I am the founding partner of popWeb, a web design company based in Cape Town, servicing clients from across the world. I started building websites for our clients in 2013, and discovered the Divi design platform in 2016. We've never looked back. Divi allows us to design and build websites faster and more creatively with a host of resources available to us to feed that creativity. But we have found that building a website is just the first step. Wordpress sites need to be continually updated and checked for issues. We provide a managed service for over 65 clients locally and abroad, with 17 e-commerce sites currently under management. I also do photography and videography to really elevate your website.
Most popWeb sites are made my me, with a small content management team looking after maintenance and updates. You can book me for ad-hoc work, or reach out to popWeb for an all-in solution including hosting. Give us a try!
Ana Corrochano is an architect and ceramicist. Her website was created using textural elements such as concrete, glass and clay, combined with a teal accent colour and layered images. For the Ceramics page-set, I used a bespoke hand-written font which carried through to the hero images. Rich ceramic textures and minimalist hero graphics are ever-present in this e-commerce page-set. We also designed her architecture and ceramics logos based on her love of birds and nature.
Miller's Thumb is one of Cape Town's iconic and longest-standing restaurants. They specialise is fish and seafood. They allowed us full creative freedom, which also included a new logo, photography and video production. We used chalkboard, slate and handmade paper backgrounds and related fonts, with orange and green accents. We combined that with stunning food and people images. The end result is mouth-watering. They loved our menu page so much that they used it for their physical menus!
Together with design agency Moonmoth Interactive, we created an e-commerce website incorporating tasting note videos on each product and range. We also produced a short About video along with all the packshots and supporting photographs. The neutral off-white background showcased the striking images, and a bit of "stitching" detail gave an elegant touch.
P4U is a fully managed site which continues to evolve as the business grows. They sell personalised gifts and clothing which can be designed and ordered online. We enabled customers to select a product, e.g. t-shirt, drinks bottle, lunch box, etc, and add images, shapes and text. Add to cart, make payment, and P4U deliver the next day. The site has a fun, creative, feel-good feel on the front-end, and whole lot of ever-changing back-end functionality.
